After sorting the last few details with Sparky, and watching him work his way through another couple of big cups of tea, Marie stepped out into the sunlight again. She stood there for a second, letting the rays warm her skin, before she took a deep breath and started down the street again. Things where falling into place nicely, now she just had to find a nice ambush point to lure the Sniffer to.
As she kept moving she ran through potential spots in her mind, mentally sorting them into No, Might Work and Definitely Possible-piles. In the end she had three places in the last pile and she started moving with more purpose. The ghost blood effect was mostly gone now, only vague after-images followed her when she weaved through the busy city streets.
The first place on her list got scrapped at once, it seemed a class of botanist students had chosen this day to catalogue all the species in the usually deserted park. Marie offered the situation a single curse before moving on.
The second option looked promising, the deserted lot was over-grown and filled with mysterious scraps of metal but it was empty. Despite this she moved on to the the third spot as well, unfortunately that one was now occupied with a house which had not been there the last time she needed an open area somewhat out of the way. So, second spot it was. Marie sat down on the edge of the roof of one of the buildings overlooking the lot. She had the where and the how, now she only had to wait for the when.
